Massage & Body Therapy
Sports Massage
Duration: 45–60 minutes
Sports massage is purposeful bodywork built around how you train and move. Rather than a fixed routine, your therapist works the muscle groups your sport actually loads — quads and calves for runners and footballers, shoulders and lats for lifters and swimmers — combining deep strokes, compression and assisted stretching.
Used before activity, it helps warm and prepare the tissue; used after, it supports recovery and helps ease the tightness that follows hard sessions. Used regularly, it becomes part of a sensible training programme: many of our regulars book a fixed slot after their heaviest weekly session.
Available at all three branches and as a home service, with sessions of 45 to 60 minutes depending on branch.

Take care if…
- — An acute injury in its first 48–72 hours (fresh sprains, tears or heavy bruising) — let the inflammation settle first
- — Suspected fracture or torn muscle — seek medical assessment before massage
- — You take blood-thinning medication — consult your doctor about firm massage work
- — Fever or feeling unwell — recovery starts with rest
Our treatments support wellbeing and are not a substitute for medical care. Please tell your therapist about any medical conditions or pregnancy before your session.
FAQs
Common questions
Should I book before or after training?
Both have value. A lighter session 1–2 days before an event prepares the tissue; a deeper session after hard training supports recovery. Tell us your schedule and we will pace it accordingly.
Do I need to be an athlete?
Not at all. If you move, train or play at any level, sports massage meets you where you are.
How is it different from deep tissue?
The techniques overlap, but sports massage is organised around your activity — targeting the muscles your sport loads and often incorporating stretching — while deep tissue targets chronic, posture-driven tension.
Can I train the same day?
After a deep session, keep the rest of the day light. A gentle pre-event session, however, is designed to be trained on.
