Massage & Body Therapy
Indian Head Massage
Duration: 30–40 minutes
Rooted in the centuries-old Ayurvedic tradition of champi, Indian head massage concentrates on the places where modern stress actually gathers: the scalp, temples, neck and shoulders. Your therapist works through a sequence of kneading, circular friction and gentle percussion — no table required, no oil on the body, just thirty minutes of focused release.
The effect is disproportionate to the session’s length. Guests arrive with screen-strained eyes and a heavy head, and leave describing a feeling of clarity — as though a background noise has been switched off. It is a favourite lunchtime booking at our men’s branches, where it sits alongside Malaysian and Balinese head techniques.
For a longer treatment that continues down the back, pair it with our head, neck and shoulder massage or extend into a full-body session.

FAQs
Common questions
Do I need to undress?
No — Indian head massage is performed seated or reclined with clothing on, which is part of its everyday practicality.
Will there be oil in my hair?
Traditional versions use oil, but we can perform the session dry if you are returning to work. Tell us your preference when you arrive.
What is the difference between the Indian, Malaysian and Balinese head massages?
Each tradition has its own rhythm and emphasis — Indian champi focuses on scalp friction and percussion, the Malaysian style works deeper into the neck, and Balinese blends in acupressure. Ask your therapist which suits your tension pattern.
